Ukraine takes 8th place in terms of investment attractiveness in green energy

Every two days there emerges one powerful solar power station in Ukraine and about 25 small stations to provide solar energy to households. And this is extremely impressive! But the fact that Ukraine took the 8th place in the world in terms of investment attractiveness in alternative energy is even more impressive, having risen from 63 positions in the ranking this year.

What is the secret behind green energy development in Ukraine?

The 8th place was given in the annual report of Climatescope 2019 of the Bloomberg New Energy Finance research agency.

The agency notes, “Ukraine has done incredible things: it immediately rose to 55 positions in the attractiveness rating of developing countries, in terms of investments in renewable energy in last year’s report, the country was at meek 63rd place, and according to 2019 report it climbed right away to 8th”

According to experts, the reason for this growth is the reform of the energy sector, as well as attractive “green” tariffs and tax rates.

Join Japan also learned that another reason for the rapid development of alternative energy in Ukraine is the increase in investment in the country. In 2018, the amount reached $ 801 million and the growth potential of investments remains high.

The managing partner of the renewable energy company UDP Renewables, Sergey Yevtushenko noted, “Among European countries, Ukraine is the most attractive market. This is the result of a numerous factors both objective and subjective. A high green tariff, a delayed transition to competitive pricing at auctions, macroeconomic stability in 2017-2019, simple and understandable legislation, where there is practically no place for corruption - these are the reasons for such a rapid rise of the industry. ”

Japan also pays a lot of attention to the development of alternative energy sources, methods of its accumulation and storage. And the Ukrainian green energy projects are of interest to the Japanese. Join Japan team believes that the alternative energy sector is an excellent opportunity to strengthen cooperation between our countries.
